Total Fire Group is celebrating recent achievements by three of its housing sector clients: Torus, Your Housing Group and First Choice Homes Oldham.
From national industry recognition to internal team awards and a positive regulatory outcome, these achievements recognise the work taking place across organisations responsible for residents’ homes and wellbeing. We are proud to support these clients through our fire safety expertise.
Torus named Fire Safety Team of the Year
Congratulations to Torus, which has won Fire Safety Team of the Year at the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) Awards 2026. The awards celebrate the contribution of individuals, teams and organisations across the fire safety industry.
National recognition is a proud moment for the Torus team and an opportunity to celebrate the people working behind the scenes to help keep residents safe.
Total Fire Group supports Torus with fire safety consultancy, fire risk assessments and fire door surveys. Our work includes stock condition surveys to assess the condition of fire doors, alongside functional surveys to check their operation and support Torus in meeting its responsibilities under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
Working alongside its in-house team, we provide specialist advice and clear findings to help inform maintenance, remedial work and ongoing fire safety management.
Double recognition for Your Housing Group
Your Housing Group’s Fire Safety and Compliance teams were both celebrated at its recent Colleague Conference and Awards, which brought together more than 900 colleagues.
The Fire Safety Team received the Best Demonstration of Safety First award, while the Compliance Team won the Customer Facing Team Award. Both awards recognise the dedication, professionalism and commitment shown by colleagues across the organisation.
Total Fire Group supports YHG with fire safety consultancy, fire risk assessments and fire door surveys. Over several years, we have surveyed around 17,000 doors for the organisation, helping its team understand their condition, identify defects and prioritise remedial work.
Congratulations to both teams on this well-deserved recognition of their work.
Celebrating progress at First Choice Homes Oldham
These successes follow the positive regulatory outcome recently achieved by First Choice Homes Oldham.
As reported in our recent article, FCHO received the highest possible ratings for governance and financial viability, G1 and V1 respectively, alongside a C2 rating against the Consumer Standards.
Total Fire Group works with FCHO to support its fire safety responsibilities, including carrying out fire risk assessments across its blocks of flats. These assessments identify potential fire risks and inform action plans to remove or reduce them.
We congratulate FCHO’s colleagues on this important milestone and look forward to continuing our work together.
