Fire safety consultancy Total Fire Group (TFG) has congratulated First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) following its latest regulatory inspection, recognising the importance of strong partnerships in maintaining safe, well-managed homes.
Following an inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing, FCHO achieved the highest possible ratings for governance (G1) and financial viability (V1), alongside a C2 rating against the Consumer Standards.
The outcome provides independent assurance of FCHO’s governance and financial resilience, while recognising its approach to delivering services and meeting the needs of residents.
As a specialist fire safety consultancy working with FCHO, Total Fire Group plays a role in supporting the housing provider’s wider building safety and compliance responsibilities.
The partnership reflects the growing importance of collaboration between housing providers and specialist contractors, particularly as regulatory requirements and expectations around building safety continue to evolve.
Darren Baird, Founder of Total Fire Group, said:
“FCHO’s latest regulatory outcome is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work taking place across the organisation.
“Maintaining safe, compliant homes requires more than simply meeting regulatory requirements. It takes a proactive approach, clear accountability and trusted partnerships with specialists who understand the responsibilities involved.
“We’re proud to support FCHO with our fire safety expertise and to play a part in its wider commitment to protecting residents and maintaining high standards. We look forward to continuing that relationship and building on the work already being done.”
Total Fire Group provides specialist fire safety consultancy services, including fire risk assessments and fire door inspections, helping organisations identify potential hazards, manage risks and maintain effective fire safety processes across their properties.
Its commitment to quality and technical competence was recently reinforced by a successful BAFE SP205 Surveillance Audit, conducted by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), which resulted in zero non-conformities.
The independently assessed certification provides assurance around the competence, management systems and processes involved in delivering life safety fire risk assessments.
Now part of Ranger Group, TFG combines its established specialist expertise with the resources and nationwide reach of a wider fire and security group, strengthening its ability to support housing providers and organisations operating in highly regulated environments.
Darren added:
“Strong compliance is built on consistency. Whether that’s the quality of a fire risk assessment, the competence of the people carrying it out or the communication between everyone responsible for a building, every detail matters.
“Being part of Ranger Group gives us an even stronger platform to support clients such as FCHO, while maintaining the specialist knowledge and standards that have always been central to our business.”
Total Fire Group congratulates FCHO on its regulatory outcome and remains committed to supporting housing providers in delivering safer buildings for residents and communities.
